What is 10/40 Hope?

10/40 Hope is a missions organization founded in 2008 to bring the gospel to the people living in the 10/40 Window.

What is the 10/40 Window?

The the 10/40 Window refers to the area of the globe between 10° N latitude and 40° N latitude, including North Africa, the Middle East, South Asia, and East Asia.

10/40 Window FACTS

  • The population is over 5 billion people.

  • About 3 billion of those people have virtually zero opportunity to hear about Jesus.

  • Only 3.4% of missionaries serve in the 10/40 Window, because of the hostility many Christians face.

Why Cyprus?

Location

Cyprus is located in the eastern Mediterranean Sea just a short flight to and from the neighboring countries of the North Africa & the Middle East.

History

Cyprus was and is an important cultural crossroads for the region. The apostles Paul & Barnabas visited Cyprus in AD 45. (Acts 13:4-12)

Culture

Cyprus is a mostly safe & modern country with a stable government that allows freedom of religion.

Evangelical Christians in the Region

In this region where Jesus lived, died, and was resurrected, there are very few Christians today.

Most people in this region practice Islam. They may have never heard the gospel.

Many converts to Christianity face persecution from their government or even their family.

Our Role in Cyprus

Support

We will transport resources to missionaries & indigenous leaders in the surrounding countries from the 10/40 Hope base in Cyprus.

They will use those resources to train other leaders to spread the gospel even further.

Serve

We will connect with an existing local church in Cyprus and serve there in whatever capacity they require: refugee outreaches, teaching children’s church, working with the youth group, etc.

Train

We will lead 10/40 Hope interns through the missionary training curriculum.

We hope to add many missionaries to the field in the coming years through this training & their “real life” cross-cultural experience.

Shelter

We will provide a temporary place of refuge for missionaries or indigenous leaders who are in danger or who need a break from the constant stress of the mission field.
